Description of our semi-finished gunstocks

Return merchandise policy

We manufacture semi-finished gunstocks, semi-finished gunstocks will require final fitting to the gun, sanded and a finish put on by the customer or a competent gunsmith if the customer does not have the skills or the tools to accomplish this task. All of our master patterns for replacement stocks are made from factory original stocks. Our stocks are at approx. 95% inlet with the inletting being slightly undersized. Fitting usually requires sanding, scraping, filing, etc. to properly fit the stock to the gun. The amount of fitting required will depend on the type and model of gun being restocked. Some guns have a very straight forward simple metal to wood fit while other guns have a more complicated metal to wood fit. The outside of the stocks are left oversized ( at least 1/8" all over ) to allow for the fitting of wood to metal fit to be as perfect as the customer so desires, and sanding to remove minor machine marks, irregularities in the wood, final shaping, and prepare for a finish to be applied. Semi-finished gunstocks will require more than just a few swipes with sandpaper. Some stocks also may require cutting to length for the desired pitch and desired LOP. We recommend anyone fitting and finishing a semi-finished gunstock to a gun have at least moderate wood working skills and the correct tools such as a palm sander, sanding sticks, wood rasp, files, chisels, sanding block, sandpaper, etc.

Semi-finished gunstocks are left oversize for several reasons, As stated above, to allow for the fitting of wood to metal fit to be as perfect as the customer so desires, and sanding to remove minor machine marks, irregularities in the wood as well as the oversized stock can be sanded as close to OEM size as the customer desires.

Weather conditions and climate change will have a drastic affect on unfinished wood, for this reason a semi-finished gunstock must be left oversize and the inletting must be left undersized to allow for the shrinking and swelling of the unfinished wood as it acquires and dissipates any moisture during a climate or weather condition change which can happen from day to day.

Again we stress anyone fitting and finishing a semi-finished gunstock to a gun have at least moderate wood working skills and the correct tools to accomplish this task. We also recommend that all semi-finished gunstocks be allowed to acclimate to the climate where the stock will be fit to the gun and the finish put on.

Our return policy has been filed with Concord Merchants Group (credit card companies). We have also filed it with other appropriate officials.

All returns must be approved by Gunstocks Inc. before the item is returned. All returns are required to have an RMA ( return merchandise authorization ) number. The RMA number must be printed on the outside of the package the item is returned in.

Any order that is canceled by the customer after the order has been processed and invoiced will be subject to a 8% service charge.

Any order that is canceled or refused delivery by the customer after the order has been shipped must be returned to Gunstocks Inc. unaltered for a refund and will be subject to a 25% restocking fee plus an 8% service charge..

Custom and special order items are only made after order is placed and payment received. Special and custom orders could take up to approx. 30 - 180 days to be made and shipped.

Any custom order or special order item is not returnable unless the item is defective.

Any wood shipped to Gunstocks Inc. by the customer for machining will be considered a special order. Gunstocks Inc. will not be responsible for any defects, irregularities, voids, inclusions, chip-outs or any otherwise non-standard machining that might show up and or occur durrring machining.

We strive to process and ship all in stock item orders within 72 business hrs.

At times all orders may take longer.

Special orders and non inventory items may take longer.

If there is a concern about ship/lead time please inquire before Placing an order.

All orders shipped outside the lower 48 United States will be shipped via USPS.

We will replace/repair or issue a refund for the cost of any defective item after the defective item and original invoice have been returned to Gunstocks Inc. unaltered. It will be Gunstocks Inc's. choice whether to replace/repair or issue a refund for the defective item. Gunstocks Inc. will reimburse any standard shipping cost for any item returned unaltered that is found to be defective. Gunstocks Inc. will issue a refund less shipping costs and less a 25% restocking fee if customer simply changes his/her mind, or returns a non-defective item after item has been returned to Gunstocks Inc. unaltered. Any non defective item returned to Gunstocks Inc. that is unaltered but requires Gunstocks Inc. to do any final fitting to prove the item is non defective will be subject to a time/labor charge @ $60.00 per hour with a 1/2 hour minimum labor charge plus any materials required. Gunstocks Inc. manufacture semi-finished/unfinished gunstocks. We will not issue a full refund when customer simply decides that there is too much work involved in finishing a stock. Customer must ask questions or be sure of what they are buying before they make a purchase. All returned items shipped to Gunstocks Inc. will be shipped by the customer insured unless otherwise requested. We will replace or refund for any item damaged or lost during shipping when shipped by Gunstocks Inc.. All defective items must be reported to us within 14 days after customer received the item. We will not issue any refund for items returned to us by anyone other than the original purchaser of the item being returned.

Any order placed incorrectly by the customer can be returned and Gunstocks Inc. will exchange the item for the correct item plus shipping costs of the item back to the customer. Incorrectly ordered items that are returned for a refund are subject to a 25% restocking fee.
